As a part of the Digital Equalizer Program, American India Foundation along with the support of Dell has set up a Tablet lab (Abbreviated as TAB – LAB) at the Government School for Hearing Impaired, Kanchipuram. Mr. Jagdish from Dell India, Bangalore inaugurated the lab and interacted with the students and teachers. This Program is focused on the enhancement of teaching-learning process with the help of technology for the children with disabilities. Our aim is to make the hearing impaired students learn visually and thereby empower the special teachers on the usage of technology gadgets.
A Tab Lab comprising of
30 tablets had been set up in the Government High School for Hearing impaired,
Sadhavaram, Kanchipuram. These tablets have education content pre-loaded in
them. Digitized content will be
provided to each student in advance and these will be integrated with sign
language. Since each student
should have a chance to watch the video in his or her own tablet and at his or
her own pace, the student- tablet ratio is 1:1.
