The objective of the Summer
Camp was to develop the students’ scientific temperament, research and
development, aspiration towards higher education. This Camp was conducted in 15
Chennai Corporation Schools for the students of class 6 to 8 and 11 schools in
Coimbatore. A total of 325 students in Chennai and 249 students in Coimbatore
were benefitted.
Activities and experiments on
Science topic based on QED’s Do It Yourself kit were explained to students and
they performed the topics with their own idea. This was done both in Chennai
and Coimbatore.
On the Final day of the Camp,
Students exhibited their models and showcased their projects. Parents, teachers
and other students interacted with the students for better understanding of the
project they created. The 3 best projects were selected by the judges. Parents
expressed their gratitude to the Education Department and AIF. They expressed
that the summer camp was very useful to their kids. The teachers also expressed
that this camp really expressed the multi talents of their students.
Students were more curious towards
the experimental way of learning. Students by doing these experiments
understood the content with more clarity. Gained skill sets like self
confidence, collaboration, communication, creativity and presentation skills.
Each and every student demonstrated the experiments with their own creativity.
Apart from this in Coimbatore Smart Brain Class, in which focus was given
to develop self esteem, concentration, overcome distraction was conducted for
class 10 students and Digital Story Telling for class 9
students. 5 DSTs were prepared and showcased 69 students got benefited by Smart
Brain Classroom.
